Crispy Chocolate Donuts

Crispy Chocolate Donuts are a type of fried dough or delicious dessert. They are so much famous around the world. They are prepared in different forms as a sweet snack. Donuts can easily be made at home or they can be purchased from bakeries and supermarkets. They have a ring like shape covered with sugar glaze. Various toppings can be applied on the donuts like sugar glaze or chocolate and maple syrup. Some donuts are filled with cream and custard. They are also topped with powdered sugar and sprinkles.

Ingredients for Donuts:

Melted Butter                                                                                ½ Cup

Eggs                                                                                                  2

Baking Powder                                                                               1 tsp

All-Purpose Flour                                                                          4 Cups

Sugar                                                                                               1 Cup

Grated Nutmeg                                                                              ½ tsp

Yeast                                                                                                2 tbsp

Milk                                                                                                  ½ Cup

Salt                                                                                                   1 tsp

Oil                                                                                                    for Frying

Vanilla Essence                                                                              1 tbsp

Lukewarm Water                                                                          for Kneading the Dough



Take a bowl and mix all dry ingredients together. (All-Purpose Flour, Baking Powder, Yeast, Sugar, Grated Nutmeg and Salt). Now add Eggs, Melted Butter, Vanilla Essence and Milk and mix the dough well. Knead the soft dough with lukewarm water. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Keep the dough aside for 2 – 3 hours. Turn out the dough on to a floured surface and roll it out to about ¼ inch thick. Use a donut cutter to cut out the doughnuts. Remove the holes and deep fry them on low medium flame till golden brown on both sides. Put the donuts on a paper towel to remove the excess oil.

Ingredients for Sugar Glaze:

Milk                                                                                                  3 tbsp

Vanilla Essence                                                                              1 tsp

Icing Sugar                                                                                      1 Cup


Mix the icing sugar, milk and vanilla essence in a bowl to bring a thick consistency. Dunk each donut in the glaze one by one. Place them on a rack to remove the excess glaze.

Ingredients for Chocolate Frosting:

Coco Powder                                                                                 1 tbsp

Milk                                                                                                  3 tbsp

Icing Sugar                                                                                      1 Cup

Vanilla Essence                                                                              1 tsp


Take a bowl and mix all ingredients together. Mix them well to bring a thick consistency. Chocolate Glaze is ready to apply onto the doughnuts.

Donuts Decoration:

Dip one side of each sugar glazed donuts into the Chocolate Glaze. Dust shredded coconut, crushed nuts, shredded chocolate or some sprinkles on the top of the doughnuts. Donuts / Doughnuts are ready to serve.
