These mini sausage rolls can be served as a delicious snack on breakfast or supper. This is the most famous party and picnic snack. Children love to eat these mini sausage rolls with ketchup and mayo sauce. People make this amazing dish with different types of sausages. I love to make it with smoked and seasoned sausages (frankfurters). Mini sausage rolls have a great combination with mustard paste. You can apply some mustard paste inside the roll before wrapping it up. Or you can even serve them with the mustard sauce. Let’s try this mouthwatering recipe of the yummy mini sausage rolls.
Frankfurters (Seasoned & Smoked Sausages) 6
All – Purpose Flour 2 cups
Sugar 1 tbsp.
Yeast 1 tbsp.
Milk 1 cup
Butter 1/3 cup
Egg Yolk 1
Method to Make Mini Sausage Rolls:
Take a bowl and mix all dry ingredients in it i.e. All-purpose flour, sugar, salt and yeast. Add butter and mix it properly to make a crumble of flour and butter. Now add milk to knead smooth and lump free dough. Keep the dough aside for an hour. When the dough becomes double in size, make 6 balls of equal size and roll them out to make long strips.
Wrap these long strips over the sausages. Now take egg yolk in a small bowl and add 1 tbsp. of water in it. Apply this egg wash over the sausage rolls. Now place these mini sausage rolls in a greased baking tray and bake them in a preheated oven at 200C for 15 minutes.
Take the mini sausage rolls out from the oven and serve them hot with ketchup, mayo or mustard sauce. Have a great fun with your family and friends.
Note: You can also refrigerate unbaked sausage rolls for later use. Just defrost them and bake just before serving.
