Mint Patoras is a unique and very less expensive dish which you can easily make at your home. This dish is prepared with the mint leaves, chickpea flour and with few spices. People usually serve mint patoras with chapati and nan. This is so much flavorful dish and the best part is that you don’t need anything expensive to make it. Let’s start making this delicious recipe.
Ingredients:
For Patoras:
Chickpea Flour 2 Cups
Mint Leaves (Finely Chopped) 1 Cup
Green Chilies (Finely Chopped) 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Red Chili Powder 1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder 1 tsp
Baking Soda 1/3 tsp
Water ½ Cup
Oil to deep fry
For Gravy:
Ginger Paste 1 tsp
Garlic Paste 1 tsp
Chili Powder 2 tsp
Coriander Powder 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder ½ tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Yogurt 1 Cup
Oil ½ Cup
Water 1 Glass
Mint Patoras Recipe:
Make Patoras:
Take chickpea flour in a deep bowl. Now mix all ingredients in it, such as Mint Leaves, Green Chilies, Salt, Red Chili Powder, Garam Masala Powder and Baking Soda . Mix it well and knead the dough with some water. The dough should be smooth and tough. Now make 2-inch thick rolls with this dough and simmer them in the water for 8 – 10 minutes. Take these rolls out of the water and let them dry for 10 – 15 minutes. Now cut ½ inch thick slices with a sharp knife. After that heat up some oil in a wok and fry these patora slices to golden brown. Mint patoras will become crispy at this stage. You can also serve these crispy mint patoras with tea and chatni.
Make Gravy:
Now heat up oil in a deep cooking vessel and fry ginger garlic paste. Now add Chili Powder, Coriander Powder, Turmeric Powder, Salt and Yogurt. Fry all spices and add ½ cup of water. Cover the lid and let it cook over medium flame for 4 – 5 minutes. Now add fried mint patoras and also add 1 glass water. Cover the lid and cook it for 5 – 6 minutes. You can garnish this mouth-watering dish with fresh coriander and mint leaves. Serve it with chapati, nan or paratha.
