Seekh Kabab is a spicy Asian barbecue dish.  It has all spices which make it yummy and tasty. It is prepared with beef and chicken mince. People love to make seekh kabab on Eid and on other happy occasions.

People prepare them in different ways. Some people shallow fry them whereas some deep fry. The traditional way to make seekh kabab is to barbecue them using skewers. It gives a unique smokey aroma to the kababs. These seekh kababs are famous in different countries of world with different names. In every country they are prepared with different recipes according to their taste. Here, we are going to share recipe of Asian Seekh Kababs. Those are mostly eaten in India and Pakistan.

Seekh Kabab Ingredients:

Beef Mince                                                           3 Kg

Garlic Paste                                                           2 tbsp

Ginger Paste                                                         2 tbsp

Ground Raw Papaya                                            4 tbsp

Fresh Coriander (Finely Chopped)                   1 cup

Green Chili (Finely Chopped)                            2 tbsp

Onion Chopped                                                    5 Medium Sized

Yogurt                                                                    5 tbsp

Gram Flour                                                            1 cup

Salt                                                                          2 tsp

Coriander (Ground)                                             2 tbsp

Cumin Seeds (Ground)                                        2 tbsp

Chili Powder                                                         3 tbsp

Square Metal Skewers                                        6 – 8

Fresh Coriander (Finely Chopped)                   1 cup

Garam Masala (Ground)                                      1 tsp


Take beef mince with some fats added in it. I have taken around 3 KG mince. All measurements are given for 3Kg Mince. You can alter them accordingly. Add ginger garlic paste, ground Raw Papaya, finely chopped 5 onions, fresh coriander, finely chopped green chili, yogurt, gram flour, salt, chili powder, ground coriander, ground cumin seeds (Zeera) and ground mix Garam masala.

Make sure that there should not be water in any ingredient. Otherwise you will not be able to make kababs in a proper shape and they will fall down from the Skewers. Mix well all ingredients and keep the mince mixture aside at least for 1 hour. Now apply some water on your hands and then take some mince and make a ball of it. Now put these mince balls into the skewer and then flatten it on the skewers by pressing them with your fingers lightly. Add more flour into the mince if it doesn’t stay on the skewers.

Barbecue Seekh Kababs on burnt charcoal. Keep turning over them. It will take at least 4-5 minutes to cook them properly. This spicy barbecue dish can be served with Chutney or Ketchup. Enjoy with your family and friends.
