Soft and Moist Orange Dream Cake

Who does not like the sweet and tangy flavour of oranges? Everyone enjoys this juicy fruit in winters. Oranges can be used in many dishes such as orange chicken, orange juice, orange rice, orange marmalade or orange cake. Its zest has a unique aroma and flavour and it is used in many cuisines. Today, we will learn to bake an orange cake. This is called an orange dream cake because of its heavenly flavour and refreshing taste. Must try this moist and soft cake and enjoy it with your friends.

Ingredients:

For Orange Sponge:

All-purpose Flour                   1 Cup

Ground Sugar                        ½ Cup

Melted Butter                          ½ Cup

Vanilla Essence                     1 tsp

Baking Powder                      1 tsp

Orange Zest                           1 tbsp

Orange Juice                         ½ cup

Eggs                                       2

For Orange Frosting:

Whipping Cream                    1 Cup

Orange Zest                           1 tbsp

Orange Tang                         4 tbsp

Ground Sugar                        1 cup

Orange Food Color                few drops

Vanilla Essence                     1 tsp

Method for Orange Dream Cake:

Cake Sponge:

To make orange dream cake sponge, beat butter and sugar in a large bowl to make a fluffy batter. Now add eggs one by one and keep beating. In a separate bowl, sift all-purpose flour and baking powder together. Now add this mixture of dry ingredients into the eggs batter. Add vanilla essence and orange zest. Mix well with a spatula. In the end, add orange juice to bring a smooth consistency. Heat up the oven at 200-degree centigrade. Take a cake mould and grease it from inside. Now pour the cake batter into the cake mould and bake it in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes.

Note: You can check your cake sponge by inserting the toothpick in the centre of the cake. If the sponge is ready toothpick will come out dry otherwise it will be covered with the cake batter. Once the cake sponge is ready, keep it aside to cool down at the room temperature.

Orange Frosting:

Take a deep bowl and add whipping cream, sugar, orange tang powder, vanilla essence and orange food colour. Whisk all these ingredients together until the cream becomes stiff and fluffy. Now add orange zest and fold it properly with the whipped cream. The orange frosting is ready to apply on the cake.

Assembling Orange Dream Cake:

To assemble an orange dream cake, Take the cake sponge and slice it into two equal halves. Now soak both of the cake slices with the orange juice. Now take orange frosting and apply it in between both cake slices. Also, apply on the cake sides and level it with a spatula to make a smooth cake surface. Now sprinkle orange zest on the cake top. You can garnish the cake with orange slices or wages. Orange dream cake is ready to eat. Serve it fresh or keep it inside the refrigerator for one or two days.
