People in Asian countries make this dish mostly on party occasions. Chicken koftas are the small mince balls with a spicy and delicious gravy. Chicken kofta can be made in different varieties. Usually, people love to make it with beef and chicken mince. In some countries kofta are also prepared with the fish and prawn mince. You can also add potato in the kofta curry to enhance its flavor. Today, we will learn to make chicken kofta with potato. Let’s start.
Ingredients:
Chicken Mince 250 grams
Potato (Small Cubes) 3
For Kofta Balls:
Fresh Coriander (Finely Chopped) ½ Cup
Green Chili (Finely Chopped) 1 tbsp
Onion (Finely Chopped) ½ Cup
Bread Crumbs ½ Cup
Chili Powder 2 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Cumin Powder 1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder ½ tsp
For Gravy:
Ginger Paste 1 tsp
Garlic Paste 1 tsp
Chili Powder 2 tsp
Coriander Powder 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder ½ tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Yogurt 1 Cup
Black Cardamom 2 – 3
Cinnamon (1-inch sticks) 2 – 3
Green Cardamom 3 – 4
Bay Leaves 2 – 3
Cloves 5 – 6
Black pepper Corns 6 – 8
Oil ½ Cup
Chicken Kofta Recipe:
Take chicken mince in a bowl and add Fresh Coriander, Green Chili, Onion, Bread Crumbs, Chili Powder, Salt, Cumin Powder and Garam Masala Powder. Mix all ingredients and make small chicken kofta balls. Keep them aside. Now take a deep wok and heat up some oil in it. Add Black Cardamom , Cinnamon, Green Cardamom, Bay Leaves, Cloves and Black pepper Corns in the oil and fry them for 1 or 2 minutes.
Now add ginger garlic paste, Chili Powder, Coriander Powder, Turmeric Powder, Salt and Yogurt. Also add ½ glass of water and mix all ingredients well. Cover the lid and let it cook for 5 – 8 minutes. Now add chicken kofta balls and potato in the masala. Add 1 glass water and cover the lid. Cook it on medium flame for 10 – 12 minutes. Chicken Kofta is ready to serve. Garnish it with fresh coriander and serve with chapati and nan.
