Red velvet cake is a great combination of chocolate, cocoa powder and red food color. It has a soft and velvety texture. Ingredients for Red Velvet Cake:
Melted Butter ½ cup
Eggs 2
Vanilla Essence 1 tsp
White Flour 1 cup
Ground Sugar ½ cup
Baking Powder 1 tsp
White Vinegar 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tsp
Milk ½ cup
Coco Powder 1 tbsp
Canned Cherries 8 – 9 cherries
Red Food Color (Liquid) 2 tbsp
Whipping Cream 1 cup
Method:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter a pan and set aside. Whisk together the ground sugar, melted butter, eggs, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, white vinegar in a bowl. Add flour and fold it with the batter properly. Also add milk to bring a smooth consistency. Add red food color and vanilla essence. Mix well. Bake in the oven for 25 – 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cake Layering & Decoration:
Let cake cool for about 10 minutes. Slice the cake sponge into three equal layers. Take whipping cream in a bowl and beat it until it becomes fluffy and double in quantity. Spread the whipping cream between layers, on top and sides of the cake. Crush the remaining cake portion and sprinkle it over the cake for decoration. Put cherries on the top (Optional). Red Velvet Cake is ready to serve.
