This simple Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe takes only 30 minutes for the preparation and 2 hours for cooking. You can serve this dish for at least 8 persons.  To make this simple Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe, You need 1 stick of unsalted butter, one lemon zest and juice, 1 tsp chopped thyme leaves, 1 turkey, kosher salt, black pepper ground, 1 bunch of fresh thyme, 1 whole lemon (halved), 1 large onion (halved) and 1 head garlic (halved crosswise).


First of all, preheat the oven to 350 F. Melt butter into the saucepan and add lemon zest and juice and 1 tsp thyme leaves. Keep it aside. Clean the Turkey and wash it properly from inside and outside. Remove the fats and feathers and pat dry it. Take a large oven tray and place the turkey on it. Liberally apply salt and ground black pepper inside the turkey cavity. Now fill the cavity with bunch of thyme, halves lemon, onion and the garlic. At the end, brush the turkey with butter mixture and apply salt and pepper. Use a string to tie the legs and tuck the wings inside the turkey body.

Now roast the turkey for about 2 hours or until the juices becomes dry. Remove the turkey from the oven and cover it with aluminum foil. Set aside for 20 minutes. The simple Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe is ready to serve. You can serve a whole turkey or can also make slices.
